Of course, your rank in the marketplace will determine how much traffic you get. Another determining factor is how many products you have in the Clickbank marketplace.

But, this is a source of traffic as well as sales and it could be huge.

  • Google Base – Upload Your Database To Increase Your Website Traffic

    By Donna Knight

Google Base is a new database that Google has created to allow website owners to upload databases straight to Google so they can be searchable by Google users. The database which is still in beta is at http://base.google.com.

You can upload databases such as product catalogs, recipes, articles, reviews, a list of cars for sale, course list, jobs, products, wanted ads, and anything you would include in a database. In fact, there appears to be some functionality that overlaps with Froogle since you can upload databases of products you sell.

The database can include a picture and a link to your website. It lets you specify keywords that searches can use to find your data. Data submitted to Google Base may be indexed in the main search engine and Froogle, as well. However, you don’t need a website. Google will host your data for you, if you don’t have one. For maximum exposure though, you should have a website.

If you have a lot of things to upload to Google Base, you can post a bulk list in tab-delimited or XML format.

Here are 10 ways to use Google Base:

    1. Post your catalog of eBooks you have created or that you have resale rights to.
    2. Post your catalog of software you have created or that you have resale rights to.
    3. Add your database of video products you sell or give away.
    4. Add your database of audio products you sell or give away.
    5. Add a database of articles you have written.
    6. Add your database of all digital products you sell.
    7. Post a database of reviews you have done.
    8. Add a database of recipes you have collected. This can be especially profitable if you have a recipe-based website since your database listings can have links to your website.
    9. Upload your database of products you sell from your Ebay store.
    10. Upload your database of pictures of products you sell from your offline business.

It doesn’t have to be just about driving traffic to you website. An increasing number of people look for information online before they visit an offline store. Many offline businesses don’t get this. If your competitors are one of the many offline businesses that are missing the internet boat, that’s all the reason you need to get information about your business on Google.

Any time you can post data or links to your site onto a high traffic site such as Google, it will boost traffic to your website. Since this is a new service still in beta testing, that’s all the more reason to jump the gun ahead of your competitors, who may not even know about this yet. If you choose your keywords carefully, the end result can only be a rush of traffic to your website.

  • 10 Reasons to Use Preople.com to Boost Your Name Rank

Have you heard about Preople.com? This is a relatively new site I discovered which will tell you the rank for your name on the internet. The higher the number, the more famous you are. Of course the problem is that if there is a famous person with your name, this is not really your rank. It’s the rank for your name. It turns out Preople is a high traffic site and if someone looks up your name on Google, Preople’s listing for your name could be at the top of the results. That’s why you need to claim your name as quickly as possible by signing up.

Here are 10 more reasons you should use Preople.com:

    1. To be the top dog among the (fill in your name here)’s. If there are multiple people with your name, you want to claim your name on Preople.com before someone else does. For example, if you’re Jill Smith, your goal is to be the top Jill Smith in the world. This is not for the faint of heart because the other Jill Smith’s will hate your guts for stealing their glory. But hey, think of it this way, whether the other Jill Smith’s love you or hate you doesn’t matter, at least you’ll be famous. And we all know that an egotistical maniac like you loves to be the center of attention (Oops! Did I say that out loud…).

    2. Preople has a blog feature you can use – Search engines love blogs so this is one more blog to help boost your search engine ranking for your own name.

    3. To post links to your other sites in your blog postings (without spamming). Links to your site not from a site owned by you helps the search engine ranking for that site.

    4. To improve your name rank on Google. Preople is a high traffic site and I discovered that when I look up my name preople is one of the top 10 listings. It didn’t used to be. That just goes to show you that search engines show preople.com a lot of love, and for that reason you should too.

    5. To boost your search engine rank for free – I prefer free search engine optimization over hiring a search engine optimization expert for 1000s of dollars any day… but then I am a cheapskate.

    6. To boost your Preople rank by posting to your blog

    7. To score one for the living. One thing I noticed is that obituary listings get very high ranking. When I search for Donna Knight, most of the links are dead Donna Knight’s. That really bothers me because I like to think I’m going to live forever, and I hate being reminded of my own impending doom. If you use Preople, you will win out over the dead people, especially because dead people can’t blog — Oh shoot! I’m going to Hades for that! Nevermind, I’m an atheist. 😉

    8. To boost your traffic. Preople tells you how to boost your Preople rank on the front page. These same methods will boost your name brand recognition and traffic rank to your own site.

    9. To post your profile, so that even if the name rank isn’t really you because there’s someone famous with your name, the profile attached to that name will be yours and that famous person can’t take it away from you.

    10. To post articles on the blog so that they will be syndicated by blog sites.

  • Ten Ways To Maximize Affiliate Income

Ten Ways To Maximize Affiliate Income
    By Donna Knight

Any business, online or offline, that doesn’t require an initial cash investment, is a win-win situation. That’s what makes affiliate programs so enticing. An affiliate program allows the affiliate marketer to act as a middleman between the consumer and the merchant. When the affiliate marketer refers a successful sale, they earn a commission. These percentages can add up to a substantial amount of money.

If you spend enough time in internet marketing circles, you’ll find many individuals who were able to give up their day jobs because of success in affiliate marketing. This was made possible when the amount they earned in affiliate commissions far exceeded their job income.

If you want to enter the potentially lucrative world of affiliate marketing, there are some things you need to know. You definitely won’t achieve success if you go about it in a haphazard way. Here are ten tips to help you maximize your affiliate commissions and profits.

    1. Focus on a particular area of interest or niche market. One mistake I see many affiliates make is they try to sell products that cater to wildly different target markets. It’s better to concentrate on one specific field and study its’ advantages and disadvantages compared to other niches. For example, if you choose dogs as an area of interest, research to find the places where dog lovers hang out online. Then look for an affiliate program that offers products which cater to their desires.

    2. Choose an affiliate program wisely. Your goal is to choose the most profitable affiliate programs. Stick with higher commissions whenever possible. Promote products people actually want. Additionally, you should also consider the credibility and reliability of the company offering the affiliate program. Do they actually pay, and on time? Are their products worth selling? Read the terms of the affiliate program very carefully before agreeing to them.

    3. Build a content-filled laser-targeted site. You will primarily sell the affiliate products in your mailing list. But if your site does not attract many visitors, sales conversion is virtually impossible. Create a site that focuses on the market you are targeting; Fill it with rich, informative content that people love to read.

    4. Promote your site. If you believe the line “build it and they will come” applies to your website, you’re in for a rude awakening. People will not automatically know about your site just because it’s there. The way people find out about your site is when you advertise it on and off the internet. Submit it to search engines, exchange links with high traffic sites, and promote it in online forums and discussion groups. Tell your friends about it. Get business cards made to promote it. You have to spread the word about your site because no one else will do it for you.

    5. Promote the product. Once a consistent flow of visitors starts, it’s time to promote your favorite affiliate product. This is usually done through a sales page on your site. A sales page is an article full of praises for the product. Things like “it changed my life,” “the secret that they don’t want you to know,” “be a millionaire in one week,” and such are typical for sales pages. But they work. Hire a professional copywriter to write sales copy for you.

    6. Don’t be anonymous. You’ll find many people trying to conduct business in anonymity on the internet, but this is a mistake. People would rather deal with a name they know, rather than a username or YourDomain.com Support. Give your real name. You could choose to keep your contact information undisclosed or use a P.O. Box address, however, until you are sure you’re dealing with a trustworthy party.

    7. Build a network. Befriend other affiliate marketers. Share information about the best deals, the most effective strategies, and perhaps, even some lists of potential buyers. By referring others, you could end up with referrals yourself, even from competitors. There is enough wealth to go around. You can get much further in your success by knowing the right people than by trying to do everything on your own. Anyone you meet could end up helping you out in the future when you need them. Networking online is just as beneficial as networking offline.

    8. Build a list. It’s all well and good if you get visitors and you make some sales, but what about the future. One way to ensure future sales is to make repeat visitors and repeat customers. You do this by building a list. Always encourage your visitors to sign up for your mailing list. A lost sale and a lost visitor who joins your list could become a future sale and a repeat visitor.

    9. Hide your affiliate links. This is not a matter of being sneaky. It’s a matter of increasing your affiliate marketing sales. Your affiliate link ( also known as your referral link) is how you make your commissions so it’s very important to do anything you can to increase the number of people who click on it.

You can use services such as shorturl.com to shorten and hide it. You can run a script on your site that helps you hide it or you can use an affiliate software program that helps you mask your link. There are multiple choices, but using your bare affiliate link is usually not the best choice. This makes you vulnerable to affiliate hijacking. That means that people will go straight to the main site, such as http://whatevermerchant.com, instead of http://whatevermerchant.com/?aff=you. The painful result is that you will lose a sale.

    10. Multiple streams of affiliate income. While you don’t want to join a bunch of unrelated affiliate programs, you do want to create multiple sources of affiliate income. Join multiple programs so that if a target prospect is not interested in one product you’re introducing them to, they might be interested in another related product.

One solution is to join an affiliate merchant network such as http://www.linkshare.com or http://cj.com. These are two of the most popular merchant networks. Not only are there hundreds of affiliate programs but there are lots of related affiliate programs in networks like this.

Joining affiliate programs is free, so there is no risk involved as long as you remember to stay focused in your marketing efforts and choose the affiliate programs wisely.
